While the sciences are what most people think of when studying the world and how it works, the visual arts are also considered essential for that purpose in Classical Christian education. Through painting, drawing, and other visual media, people gain an appreciation for the details of God’s creation, and an understanding of how those details relate to one another. We teach students to recognize beauty in all things through music, science, great works of literature, mathematics, and of course, the visual arts.

Cornerstone students all take art classes two times a week as part of their regular class schedule. We are thrilled to be able to also offer our high-quality art classes to other families in the greater Northfield community who might want to explore Classical Christian education or who are committed to homeschooling but would benefit from the assistance of an experienced art teacher. By offering one longer session per week, we aim to make it as convenient as possible for all interested families.
